Chocolate Chip Cookies

I enjoy eating cookies, and also baking them. I have really liked Daphne Oz's recipe and would like to use this page to track my attempts to improve, as well as providing myself a canonical cookie source.

First of all, some attribution. I discovered this recipe from Daphne Oz: My (current) Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies

She also references meaningful inspiration that I will also pay homage to:

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) melted unsalted butter
  • 9 ounces assorted chocolate, chopped
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp room temperature water

Mrs. Oz's first direction is to preheat the oven, which makes zero sense given that the dough needs to refrigerate for hours.
